Technology, resources, content, context and commitment, I have always had it all as an educator and yet for 8 years I was struggling to see engaged faces in the class. Together as a team me and my colleagues failed to find out the reasons behind the student’s laid back attitude, their low attendance, the forcefully filled conference halls, the dependence of the students on last minute cramming and notes for grades. All this had always been a challenge for us, the challenge of making them job ready, the challenge of making them study one important concept beyond the prescribed syllabi, the challenge of making them self directed learners.

And today I believe that we as educators were ill-equipped, it was never about the learners, it was always about the teachers. I see the need for adult educators in India to go through a rigorous training in educational psychology, in adult education. And probably then all this will never be a challenge.

And thus with me, I take you along on my journey to be what I have always been, what I always will be, but never quite the same again....... An Educator...
